Just the title question alone is a stupid question! LOL!

Anyway, is ISO the same thing as ASA?

It's not that stupid, and yes its pretty much the same thing.

ASA = American Standards Association
ISO = International Standards Organization

They are two different groups that set standards, and when it comes to rating film speed (or digital chip sensitivity), they mean the same thing.
