Canon 199a flash

Hey everyone. I'm interested in buying flashes to use manually and I can get a canon 199a for $15. This is an old flash that was recommended for the "a" series cameras but I'll be using it on a wireless transceiver (cactus v5) ... It's has a guide number of 98 and is a lot of bang for the buck. Any concerns with buying this before I waste $15?? haha

Got to be worth a try for $15, looks like you may have 3 power settings, i would buy it

I agree with gsgary. I got a vivitar flash gun for £1 at a bootfare works a treat

For that price you can't go wrong.

Bought it. Tested it manually on a nikon we had at the store. Now I'll have to buy 3 cactus v5's ... Once I test my Nissin di622 on the nikon, to reassure that it'll work with the v5's

Will this sync with any shutter speed or am i limited to 30/60? How do i control its power?

It will sinc to what ever your camera will sinc, i have an old vivitar and when i turn the dial i have different power according to my flash meter
