Canon 650D (T4i)+ EF-S 15-85mm (OR) Nikon D7000+ Nikkor AF-S 16-85mm

Hello Guys,

I am a beginner to the DSLR world and about to buy my first gear, so I was looking to your opinions (please not biased or fanatic), I have already done a lot of researches about these p/m options matching to my budget. Noting I am just an amateur looking for general purpose photographing and not so much video shooting.
Here are my conclusions, but I am not sure how would it affect my choice. so please help me in that ;

Nikon D7000 over Canon 650D (T4i) :
*Top Screen.
*Better ergonomics.
*Better features for stills.
*It seems, it outperforms both canon 60D and 650D...but not sure about that (and here comes ur turn )
*Better Battery.
*Weather sealing.

Canon 650D (T4i) over Nikon D7000:
*Two Years newer, which could make it comparable to a higher older category (As Canon 60D and Nikon D7000)
*Touch Screen (which could beat the point of better ergonomics, not sure)
*Better video capabilities (however AF during videos is questionable as well as the Nikon D7000)

The problem is, I have no idea how should these points affect as I haven't any previous experience with DSLR's, can't find a realistic comparison between the two gears with these p/m lenses based on Image quality, and which set of lenses would be more appropriate for me in the future.
I have a wide knowledge about the features and specifications of these items, but I have no idea how do they both perform in realistic life.

I am a canon fan... the signature down there...
Go for the D7000.
Canon's entry level cameras are great, but the ergonomics and intuitiveness of the D7000's setup far surpasses the touch screen.
If you want to go Canon go with the 60D simply for the ease of changing settings while you are shooting. The design of the essential controls used for every image on the Rebel line is just bad at best.

D7000! Great body.. and superior to the T4i in all the ways that really count.

How well they perform in real life will depend on the photography skill and knowledge of whoever is using either camera.

The T4i (650D) is so new there isn't a lot of real world experience with the camera so far.

thnx for ur quick reply, but should I also scarify by the articulating screen on both Canon's, in other words how often should I need that feature, should that turns me back to canon.
and what for image quality specially as far as I know that the image quality of the Canon 650D and the 60D is almost the same..

I pray that canon never puts an articulating screen on their professional cameras. It's a break hazard. I have played with a T3i which has it and a totally amateur shooter and she doesn't particularly like it and doesn't use it. I felt like it would break on me.
