Canon S95 - SonyHX5V - Canon G12 - Nikon P7000

Hi.. I need to get a wedding gift for a friend.
Something that will last long and perform.
I read some reviews, and looked at some of the posts and some of the sample pictures. I cant seem to decide which is the better choice.

Does any of these choices stand out from the rest ?
I am not very familliar with PS cams and their performances.
Any ideas?

I've had 3 of the 4 and I'd love to tell you the Nikon is the one to get, but honestly I think it's between the S95 and the G12. I preferred the G12 myself but only by a small margin. Picture quality wise they are about identical.

Get the G12.... its probably the best of the bunch listed. If the G12 is not compact enough, then consider the S95.

For the past few years, the two brands that have lead the high end P&S are Canon and Panasonic with Canon leading in marketshare. The LX5 (and previously LX3) are the Panny competitors. Nikon has been lagging in this arena.
