canon t70. advice?

I currently use a t50, which i found to be a decent camera, but i lacks manual settings (only has automatic exposure).

i was thinking of picking up a t70 for about 30$. i like the fact it has 3 settings and a manual setting (my t50 has 1) and that fd lenses are cheap and i already have 1.

was wondering if anyone has used this camera or has advice on the purchase?

i have access to a rebel xs (film version from the moid 90s) but ef lenses are a lot more expensive than the fd ones.

Why not get an AE-1? Should be easy to find.
