Looks like a Canon pop-up flash, had it been a Nikon straight-on light it'd have blown kitty's eyes through the back of her head (instead of glaring the eyes but underexposing the cat heh)

I was using a Sunpak external flash, with a home made diffuser on it. After I fired it off, the cat "flew" off the back of the couch, and I didn't see him for an hour.
