Three comments:
1 - the bird is looking right but you have composed it with empty space on the left
2 - the oof branch across the front is distracting (not something you can really fix at lot of the time though)
3 - the head (and back) of the bird are in shadow so you are loosing a lot of detail around the eye

Birds can be annoying to shoot; just got to find one who will pose nicely for you
