If you trim it just above the 4th row of chairs on the left (leaving a bit of space above the 4th chair) and make the image horisontal, you will get rid of that background and create an illusion of an endless stake. In my view it would be a much stronger image.

I love chairs and these are well done. The background doesn't really bother me, but if you don't like it, you could clone and/or paste from the middle.

The background doesn't bother me so much. I had a tough time composing this and cropped it more than I prefer.
That's my biggest gripe. That and the DOF. I wanted to isolate a bit more, but the nearest chairs are out of focus a bit more than I would have liked already.

like the photo but disagree that with some work it might be worthy to go on a wall. And not because of the quality of the photo or artist, but pure subject content. I don't think anyone wants to stair at the back of chairs on a wall, no matter how well the photo was executed.
I could be wrong.
like many abstracts though, they are abstract enough to be a good or great photo but still resembling a boring or unappealing subject enough that you don't want to look at it for long periods. just my two cents.

You are not wrong. Not right either. It's just personal.
In any case, even very interesting image, with the time will bore.
Especially, if is not playing on imagination.
