My initial reaction to the first image is positive. I like the color and the reflection, and his expression is really nice. I suspect he will like this image. What bothers me in the shot is the background. The street sign and parked cars are really distracting, in part because they are a lot brighter than the subject, and the way they are shaped draws the eye away. I think looking for a shot with a less distracting background would have been a good way to avoid this.

The second shot is not bad, but at the same time does not really stand out. The exposure on your subject is a bit dark, and he gets lost in the scene to a large degree. The stuff in the background is a lot brighter and pulls the eye away from him.

Number 3 is pretty cool, with a nice perspective. His face is a little blown on the right hand side which you might take a look at, but otherwise I think this one looks pretty good.

The last one needs some fill in the form of a flash or a reflector. Otherwise it looks pretty good, the exposure on the sky is great.

Here's a hint for saving money on reflectors. Any large white surface will do, which means that a sheet of foamcore board will make an excellent $2 reflector.

Some nice shots, though. I like the grassy one particularly. Creative idea.

A wider aperture on the first one would have made the backround less distracting.
the last one could be brighter.

i've heard the foamcore thing, i should find some. the subject being darker then the background seems to be a reoccurring theme with my pictures, i really need to remedy that.

thank you all for the kind words and constructive criticism, i will take it all in and try to improve in the next few days i have three shots, we'll see if ive learned anything! ;]
