I see a lot of youngsters fishing here. That explains a lot of them probably.
Haha. My wife says I should pack away my flies and cast with Christmas lights.
The best looking spots always have the toughest casting conditions, don't they?

I have a not so secret spot off the Detroit river that is decorated like this. Mine also have syringes, cigarette butts, to add to the decor.

Empty nips and beer cans too, I’m sure.

Those things are at the top of my pet peeve list. I wish I could dole out sentences to people caught littering and doing the illegal dumping thing. There would be a few slaps included ( but not on the wrists! ).

That reminded me of working at summer camp and 'practicing' before we went near water with kids with fishing poles. Didn't really help, nobody caught anything anyway; probably too much splashing and whacking and generally terrorizing the fish.

I used to get mad at that stuff but being around it all my life, just makes it common place. For some reason, in the poverty stricken areas of Detroit, there is a great deal of littering. I have no idea why. I frequent the inner cities often and is not uncommon to see a car in front of me throw out Mcdonalds bags on the street. I do not understand the motivation to do it. I am at a loss. I have many friends inside this war zone and the greater majority have wonderful, tidy interior homes. These same friends typically leave the outside less than desirable for security reasoning, I am told.
