I thought the same too, that the #1 was better, but I really like the effect of the city in the middle of the void of the #2

I was thinking the SAME thing!!! One of the biggest drawbacks to web viewing of landscapes and scenic photos (well, ALL web-sized images,actually) is how small we have to make photos...

#1 shows a very beautiful time of the day, and nice water, nice reflections.

Croatia is beautiful. From the two I'd chose #2, may be with some crop. Nice light star and effect of blending sea and the sky.​
