Cleaning the sensor

I was seeing dots on my pictures that the rocket air blower wasn't fixing, so I figured the sensor must be dirty. I put the camera in the dishwasher (I made sure to take the lens off first!) on full cycle to make sure, but now it doesn't even turn on. I thought maybe the battery got wet, but I put in the spare battery and that didn't work either.

How can I tell if the sensor is clean or not?

Don't forget to microwave it after washing. you need to make sure that its completely dry before turning it back on.

Side note:

What is the brand of your dishwasher machine? Make sure it is Whirlpool. It has a higher in DiScO mark. So your end result is very clean even under low detergent condition. And it won't destroy your camera.

I actually put mine in the dryer to dry it. Make sure you put it on air dry only though, the heat can damage the camera.

I think your 1st mistake was using a DISH washer. Every one knows you should use a front loading clothes washer becuuse of the tumbling action will loosen the caked on dust. Than hang on the clothes line for 2 days at least
