Cold Drab Day

Been pretty busy with school lately but had some time to take out my new D610 and play around the other evening. Didn't stay out long, since it's getting dark at 5:30 nowadays but I got to see how this thing functions in these conditions.. All of these were shot with a 50 F1.8, which I gotta admit it was fun messing around with a prime lens, I don't do that too often. Anyway, nothing ground breaking, just having some fun.

I like the first picture of the lone leaf. However, since this isn't "news" photography where you can't manipulate the subject, I would have cleaned up most of the debris on and around the leaf. This would leave just the leaf and deck boards. That could have made a more powerful image.

Thanks Jim, you know I very rarely clean around my subject mainly because it doesn't really pop into my mind at the time but you're right some of that stuff is distracting
