I am going to assume that you are looking for feedback. This is a nice image, but it is too dark. I think you might need to adjust the exposure a bit and maybe the white balance as the whites themselve look a little gray. I would also be tempted to crop out the bit of tree on the right side of the image, as I am not sure it is a necessary foreground object. The creek flowing into the foreground provides the "eye capture" necessary to grab the viewer's eye and move it through the image to the trees in the background.

It is a bit dark, it was about 6 am with heavy clouds in the sky. I am only starting to look closer at adjusting white balance and exposure settings but they aren't as straight forward as it was on my old X700 though I do get instant access with the digital. We are also looking at post processing software but have no clue where to start on that front yet.

I do thank you for the critique and, to be honest, never even saw the tree in the foreground!

How is this?

Thanks Rick.

I just downloaded Picasa and will play with it a bit to see what else I can do.

Back in the (good old) days of film photography I knew exactly how to fix these issues and, while it took some time, it was a lot easier than searching through all these program options! ;)

Amen to that!

It is a very nice photo and Rick and Western are right, it needs some editing -- you're second version was much better -- how's this?

Picasa is good for organizing your photos, but it's got some major problems as an editor; first and foremost it lacks color management. The interface may be less elegant, but you'd be better served with GIMP if you're looking for free editing software. Yes, there's a lot to learn but patience and hanging around here will take you a long way. Here's a good online resource: Cambridge in Colour - Photography Tutorials & Learning Community
