I just got back from a trip out to Moab Utah where I spent a few evenings taking pictures of the milky way as a backdrop to the amazing rock formations. When I got back home I was shocked at how dull all of the pictures look because of the high iso... 2000. The milky way looks great but the foreground looks like i missed focus. Anyway to sharpen this up or reduce some of the noise? Just curious what others have done, shoot the same scene in the future with a lower iso and light paint more just to get a sharp foreground and then blend the two images? Just stumpped on how others have executed this so well.

Best thing to do with that type of shooting (or any landscape really) is to shoot with a tripod and low ISO.

But as mentioned, we can't tell what's wrong without seeing it.
