What's new

Come get your feet wet.

I like the water and clouds no ghosting at all that I can see. But you could have used more exposures. At least 2 that are way underexposed to capture that large blown area in the sky.

These are really nice scenes. Maybe a bit too much saturation for me. Also, the trees on the left side of the 2nd shot could have used a couple of overexposed shots to bring out some details there. This looks like a scene that would require at least 7 exposures to capture better. Maybe more.

I'm diggin' that second shot; love the lines along the sand.

I agree with Danny, though. Maybe bring out a bit more in the trees...

OK i see what you guys are saying about the trees in the second shot, ill have to touch that up and make them stand out a bit more.

Question: How is it that, with a three exposure image, you got the water so crisp and focused?

Same image, adjusted exposure? He said "a RAW" so I'm guessing it's a single image.

Normally when I take multiple exposures of moving objects like this beach scene I would do a normal HDR with "messy water" then do a separate single tone mapped image of the beach and blend the 2 in photoshop (mask focused water of the single tone mapped shot with HDR scene of the other shot, hope that makes sense).

In this case unfortunately I only ended up taking single quick shots since I was in a hurry so I ended up extracting 3 exposures from a single RAW.

It would save confusion if it was explained whether it is an HDR image, a single Raw file, or a tone mapped jpeg. I too was wondering about the nice crisp water, but the deghosting feature of the new Photomatix would probably work just as well if it were a true HDR image composed of multiple shots.
