They were considered the same species until 2011.

Ah, OK. I didn't know that. The only obvious, visible difference at first glance is the bill colour. Yours has a slightly more muted red than ours, tho I suspect that may change slightly seasonally.

Yeah usually it would be bright red. for what ever reason this ones colour had faded to a orangish colour

Very nice set. Not so "common" where I am though. I've never seen one.
Usually in our county there is usually only 10-15 a year this year there were well over 100. some people were seeing 40-50 of them at one location.
