Like the direction you were going. One of the nice things about the LED's is the ability to view shadows real time. That said I think this would have been improved by a less cluttered background and a single shadow. Also not sure why but on my tablet his head appears out of proportion to the rest of the body?? My first guess would be perspective distortion due to focal length and distance to subject.

@smoke665 I don't think it's his head but perhaps his hands/arms that may be out of proportion for the reason you mentioned.

I was trying to be different/artsy lol so I went with the double shadow...but I would agree with you a single lighting would be better in a more traditional manner...

You had something of a perfect storm going. The shorter focal length, being close to the subject, and the pose. Notice how the position of the arms caused the shoulders to curve in making the shoulders appear narrow, while the legs splayed out, making that area appear much wider. Couple that with the perspective distortion Does Focal Length Distort Subjects? - Photography Life and it's the perfect storm of distortion.

There's nothing wrong with the double shadow, but the background is killing you. On one, the window is decapitating it and the other side the screen thing breaks it up and distracts from the image.

I only wish he was doing something different with his hands but your capture , including choice of back ground and lighting is excellent.

I think this would be an insanely strong photo if you didn't include his entire body. I feel like if you cropped into the thighs or higher, gave him a little headroom getting his eyes on a third line this would be killer.
The tennis shoes especially take me to a different place than his face and the processing does.
