What are you trying to convey to the viewer? What do you want us to focus on?

I like nicely done cosplay. Here, as everyone says, the shadows are the main problem. Assuming you have a much sharper image, a close crop might help.

The exif says this was shot at f4, which could account for his face being OOF.

I'd crop out those lines on the wall, tighten it up, and make a few minor adjustments to help his face stand out from the background color.
