Could i get some votes?

I was wondering if I could get some votes for my image in the national parks photo contest. I have been shooting for about 4 years now and haven't done any contests besides local fairs really however I'm in third place right now in this contest with a good shot at winning it, I just need more votes for my image. I don't do Facebook. TPF and a Computer related security forum is as Social networking as I get. Vote,No Can do.

Generally speaking, TPF discourages linking to these sorts of things. It doesn't seem to be in the FAQ, however.

This is a forum for discussing photographs and photography, and the general theme regarding self-promotion is that you can do it, within reason, if you're a contributing member of the community. Just turning up for the sole purpose of promoting yourself is frowned on.

One post and you know his mentality, really? I would wonder the same thing about how many forums you are trying to get votes on. Comments like that will cause the regulars on this site to go and vote for anyone but you for that contest.

And that's enough.
These things are basically as close to spam as it can get the only difference is that the company uses normal people to do the posting instead of spammers. However signing up just to plug a competition is basically advertising for that company and we don't allow advertising without prior arrangement with the admin staff.
