Crazy dog eyes

Every photo I take of my new dog has glowing eyes, unless she's not looking at me. Any suggestions besides photoshop?

Are you using a digital SLR camera or a compact digital? The kind of camera you use makes a big difference. There are things you can do to minimize this. Read your camera and flash manual.

I had to look that up, but yes, I am using a digital SLR camera (I think!!) but I don't know where the manual is. I think my daughter lost it...

Avoid on camera flash all together.. Take photos outside or use window light. Off camera flashes do wonders as well.. Of course, that's not the cheapest way to go. Direct flashes not only give red eye, they often greatly reduce quality by giving off harsh lighting.
I don't know if all SLR cameras have this, but my camera has a setting to give off flashes before the main flash, which prevents red eye. Check in your manual.
