I can't imagine anyone is going to have the nerve to critique a picture of a US serviceman.

Ok, I will.

First is fuzzy and overly tight on the crop. Not the best subject.

Second is better than the first but popping that on-camera flash right at the subject is harsh, and the light dropoff is overwhelming... so they look like they are walking into blackness... probably not the message you want to portray. Since they are also sort of spread apart it doesn't feel like a "moment", which I'm sure it was.

Third is probably the best of them. It has some issues... arm coming out of her mouth and such, but not bad really.

Yeah I would have to agree, I wish you wouldn't have cropped part of the guy's head off.

The third one seems like the color is off to me, but maybe it's my screen...

Second comes the first in quality, yet the elder boy's stray movement disturbs the concept a bit, even though he was still guarded by father's attention. Third has some yellow tint all over...it might be good in B&W, i suppose

Try not to chop the heads off when taking the photos, other than that these are some of the best moments for people seeing loved ones again like that.
