I do like the second one better. The first thing that came to mind when looking at the first version was that the chrome wasn't really shining, which I think you've accomplished in the second.

What I would like to see is something in between the two. There were some things about the first that I did like better. In the second shot there appears to be another car beside your subject - I liked not seeing that neighboring stripe. I also liked not seeing the bright reflections in the black paint of the hood and wheel wells. It's your call whether to get this feel by cropping or by cloning/dodging/burning the relevant areas (personally I think the crop in the first shot is a little stronger due to the balanced position of the chrome and headlights).

You might also want to consider darkening the bottom left corner - in my opinion this shot works best when it's just chrome and glass against black. There is a triangle that seems to be light background under the chrome bumper. Since it's the only background that intrudes on the shot (and is light - eye-catching - to boot), I'd try to minimize it's draw.

I like it.. simple, with nice geometrics! You kept the highlights pretty much under control... nice! Makes me think of the King book, Christine! lol!

Thank you very much, hard to go wrong with black and chrome, it is tough sometimes to get the chrome to pop and shine like chrome though.
