(D)SLR SILENCER - Case/Housing, what is it called?

Hello everyone!

I want to know more about this thing that you can see in the following photos.
It's a SLR silencer housing / case so that the camera seems totally quiet to the outside. Seems to be used by photographers that take photos while a movie is made so that there's no shutter noise disturbing the filming.
But who makes this and what is it called exactly, where can I get it?

I also found a blog article that mentions such a thing, but no special info that could help me: EXTRA TERRESTRIAL. THE HUNDREDS IS HUGE

Yep the first time I saw one. Was when they were filming "Leverage" outside my building.

Yeah they're about 800$ which is way too much in my opinion, but it sure looks professional and seems to be Nice shot there, orb9220! And this guy even has two of those, do you know his name?

Sorry Nope as was on the 7th floor of my building. And they weren't letting anyone close by. Shot a dozen or so images from the window.

Caught them outside our building on another episode shoot and they were trying to tell me I couldn't take pics even tho I was outside their permit zone. And told them I knew what my rights are and keep shooting a few more.

Thanks, orb9220. Does anybody have made some experiences with sound blimps? How good do they really work and are they practical?

They wouldn't be allowed on a set if they didn't really work.
