I've never shot a D70, but hear they are nice cameras to hang onto.

That said, I always look through the local ads and today I ran across a D70 for $225, box and all.

Nikon D70 in almost new condition with original box and accessories, including:

Nikon D70 Digital Camera Body
Body cap
Original and extra instruction manuals
2GB memory card
2 x battery packs
Nikon carrying strap
Charger, video, and USB cables

A terrific camera that has been handled with great care!

For the price, I don't really think you can go wrong! Let's hope it's not too good to be true..

Yeah, it's worth that I'd say. Not a great body at higher ISO's, but simple, smallish, and straightforward to use. I still use mine for knockaround snaps, quick shots for the web, etc.

Not to mention the crazy high flash sync speed. The D70 is great for strobist stuff for that reason.

Thought it might be a good backup body (non-professional) and something to teach the kids on without worrying much about it.

Guess I'll see if they respond to my email.

Use it as an IR converted camera.

I should probably start a thread for this, but what's the point of IR converting a camera? I've never really seen any good photo results from it..

It has the electronic shutter and can sync flash at up to it's maximum shutter speed even though Nikon advertised a x-sync speed of 1/500.

It'll be mine if it doesn't sell over the weekend, seller got back to me this afternoon.

Nice. I'm actually considering replacing my D40 with a D70 just for the dual control wheels. I've grown so accustomed to using them on my other bodies that it makes the D40 feels kinda odd.

For $225, I will buy it even I use Canon.:lmao:

$225 is an average price for a D70. I see them sell anywhere between 200 and 250, that's right in the middle of that range.

The only annoying thing about the D70 is the pitifully small lcd screen, but then again the batteries last FOREVER as a trade-off.
