Nice shot, think its a little too saturated for me though.

It is a nice shot Ed. While saturation is a personal taste thing, over saturation reduces detail and perceived sharpness.

I reduced saturation and vignette. I also sharpened using smart sharpen in CS6. I hope you don't mind the edit.

The color is a bit over the top, but I think it works here, giving it a sort of painterly look (might be worth experimenting with added grain or other effects). It looks like there's some detail lost to saturation in the greens, which doesn't bother me, but not much at all in the flower.

I can't see sleist's edit because I can't see most of his attachments here at work, so I can't comment on that. If I have time tonight I'll give it a look.
