Vinyl is extremely popular over here and has been for some time. I no longer collect it but a few of my friends do. The business side has really taken off (lockdown apart).

I think there's an atmosphere in analog that is lost in digital. When they record digitally, they compress the sounds. All the unnecessary sounds are taken out. It's missing some of the soul. Sometimes I go into my basement and listen. Unfortunately I can't for a few weeks. I had a bone spur under my Achilles tendon and a planter fasciitis on my arch removed. Both were on the same foot.

Yeah, my mates who collect it say exactly the same. I still have a few hundred discs from way back in the early 70's through the 80's when I first started getting my own vinyl.

God, I remember weighing down the arm of my parents mono record played with coins to stop my records from jumping. I still have them but dread to think how they's sound. Pretty much like a knackered cement mixer I should think
