A few days ago I collaborated with a couple of friends on a cosplay photo shoot. My friend is wearing a cosplay of his favorite character, "Ryu", from the Street Fighter video game series. Another friend of mine was kind enough to provide her special effects makeup talents for this shoot. She was also kind enough to take a few behind the scenes photos, a couple of which captured the exact moment that I had taken a couple of my favorite shots from this session.

Lit using natural light and the gold side of a reflector to add some edge lighting.

Really strong set - the natural light and reflector work beautifully together. The expressions and timing add a lot of energy to the character, especially in the behind-the-scenes moments. Great collaboration all around.

Thank you so much! I almost never get behind-the-scenes photos or visio from my photo sessions, but I'm really glad someone was doing so (the makeup artist is the one to thank for these), and I think it's really cool that she captured the moments when I was taking two of my favorite shots from this session.

At this point in my life (38 yo) I'm with you on that. I cosplayed a few times as a teenager and in my 20s. Nowadays I just admire it, but wouldn't do it myself anymore.
