We had a heatwave this in the US Pacific Northwest this week. Temperatures got up to almost 100, which isn't that bad compared to other climates and much worse heatwaves that we've had in this area, but the AC where I live recently stopped working, so I'm very glad it's over now. It did made it much nicer to take some photos in the Columbia River this week though.

Cracking shots Dan! A nice themed set too. I've also just taken advantage of the drop in used lens pricing myself, I suppose it's got it's up sides with moving to the RF mount, though I'd have still liked to see an option for new DSLRs.

Yeah, the drop in price for used EF glass has made so many lenses that were out of my reach available to me now. I'm debation my next purchase, which will either be a 35mm f/1.4, or a 24mm f/1.4. I'm leaning towards the 24mm.

At least you know whatever one you go for, it'll be a cracking lens. I've been using a 16-35mm f4 L for a lot of my landscape work (I don't need the super large apertures for that). It's absolutely wicked sharp! I've a 60"x40" pano print I took hanging in my living room from a single frame.

I'm very excited to get a new L lens when I make my decision. The 85mm was a dream lens of mine and I still feel giddy about it almost a year after buying it. I used to own a 135mm f/2L and it was a wonderful portrait lens, but I found that I much prefer focal lengths that are shorter than that.

The 85mm I think is a cracking focal length, as it's very, very close to the same perspective your eye sees. Often people say that it's 50mm on full frame, but I find it's nearer 60-80mm. It'd be one I'd consider using for some landscapes for that reason, though I do struggle moving away from those large vistas.

Love the first one ! That is lotsa tattoos, man. May I ask what do they represent? A while ago I read a book called The Tattooed man, I think. It was about a man whose body was covered in tattoos and if somebody looked at them he/she would see them moving and telling a story.

Yes, 85mm seems to be the one focal length that works best for me. For the last 15 years it has been what I used about 90% of the time. Other photographers have criticized me for rarely using other focal lengths, but they aren't usually my clients so I don't care.

Thank you. I'm not the one in the pictures, so I can't really speak on the meaning of the tattoos. I would hazard a guess of what "In Memory of Brother" means though. If you look up Alex Minsky you would find some insight into the model's past.
