Well, I can only say once again (even though this photo is different from the one that you apparently lost in the forum crash) that this desert looks the most deserted (by plants) I have ever seen (other than maybe pics of the Sahara sand dunes), and the ground is very red!

So did you take this one on the day you actually went for the longer hike?

Yes LaFoto, this was taken during a longer walk.
This area is a very impressive desert, as you say.
