Its very pretty, I love purple. But I agree it could be a little sharper

The lack of DOF and the resultant OOF area at the base of the bloom, makes for a very distracting blur (especially with that large, white (almost blown out) stamen in the middle of it). Kind of kills the whole shot the way it draws the eye. If you were to burn in that white area (or clone it from elsewhere, that might help.. but it might look too fake also.

The depth of field could be a little deeper because some areas are OOF, and the vignette is very heavy. I really like the colors though.

yea.. the vignette merely emphasizes the OOF area more....

Your suggestions..

much improved... I still wish the water drops on the farthest parts were razor sharp.... but it is better.

This shot was hand held at f/16 with flash. The only way to get more DoF would be to take several shots at different focus points and merge them. Didn't have a tripod and it was windy so what you see is about as good as it is gonna get...lol. Thank you for taking the time to look at and comment on my picture.

I have shot at F32, handheld with flash.. and gotten usable shots. Diffraction can be an issue, but with a good clean exposure.. it can be minimized. You can also back off a little bit (increasing DOF) and then crop the shot.

Handheld focus stacking is possible... just difficult. If you have something to lean on, and stabilize the body as much as possible, it really helps. Obviously if the bloom was moving in the breeze, that would not be feasible.
