Did i get a descent deal on my L lens or did i get ripped off?

The lenses i spoke about are good lenses, oh maybe gently used but otherwise perfect.
I'm also looking out for a 18-55 EF for around 30-40 bucks, i'm sure i will find a good deal in time.

You do realize that while these lenses are ok, they are optically inferior to the subject at hand right?

The subject at hand may vary from time to time.

If the scratch in the lens is big enough it might soften the image in a small place. Probably wouldn't be too noticeable most of the time. But if it's over a small face or some other area that has fine detail, you might see it. It might also pick up some flare as well. Probably will hurt resale more than anything else if you decide to sell it.

I paid 1615.00 last year on e-bay for the IS version; I would say you did ok.
