I had recently purchased a digipower mountable battery back for my other camera only to find out it does not work with all Fuji cameras so I could'nt return the item being that I had torn apart the package. However I now have a new camera the D5000 and what I want to know is how reliable are these 3rd party battery packs should I use it or stay away from it for fear of any damage? What are your takes on this? it is rated at 7.2v and outputs at 2200mah (milliamps) is this underrated or overrated for the camera? I don't want to end up damaging the camera.
They mention in the imaging resource that the specs are not accurate it is actually putting out 0.8-1.0 volts over the 7.2
here is the specs for the DPS9000
