Black Soldier Fly larvae chowing down in the compost bin. If you have these in your compost, you will get some really good dressing for your garden. These guys are one of the most efficient transformers of rotting biomass to nutritious food for plants. They reduce the smell of the compost, remove metals, and are not disease vectors. If you have chix, they love to snack on these guys.
