Hi guys, this is my first post but I wanted to let people know that I've discovered a simple little procedure that you can do to make your ballhead smoother to operate.

I was wondering if there was anyone on the forum who lives in the Oxford Area who has a rough ballhead (with friction lock) that they'd like to be smoother, as I'd like to do a video tutorial to show the forum, including the before and after effect. It doesn't involve any sort of lubricant use, but it does involve some disassembly and reassembly.

I'd like to do more than one, to show how much difference it makes on different makes of ballhead.

I'm not selling this service, and I'm not looking to profit. Just want to help fellow photographers.

Let me know if you're interested, and what sort of ballhead you have.

Thanks,

Jason

in the meantime can you try to describe or better diagram?

Maybe it's just me, but when a new guy shows up and wants to handle my ballhead, even for free.. I get a little concerned. ;)

Seriously though, the ballheads are not so complicated. I am sure instructions in text form will suffice.

Why would I want anyone to mess with either my RRS BH-55 or my Burzynski head. Both are so smooth now you wouldn't believe it. At the price the cost, I'm not sure I want to volunteer to have them messed with with out more information. A lot more information.

Then clearly this thread isn't for you, and it should have been quite obvious from the title.

If I get no responses I will post a video demonstration with one of the ballheads I've already done.

Thanks for your interest.

Does this involve shaving my balls, or my head? I mean, I'd like a smoother balls and head, but hate shaving!!!

My ballhead is all metal, 1960s. Covered in scratches. Works fine. What's the issue?
