very nice, love the way the macro brings out the detail

You definitely nailed focus on that one! Lovely detail!

Thanks for the comments. I was out testing my new Sigma 35mm f/1.4 and brought the 150 macro in case there were some flowers.
Not to many flowers yet, but these swans were feeding along the bank of the pond and they let me get very close. The bright sun was behind them so I had my doubts whether the shots would be any good.
I was pleasantly surprised. :)

I don't know if I've ever seen a swan in that much detail before. Interesting to see the ridges in its beak.

Wildlife shooting with a macro? Better not let coastalcon find out about this. No telling what damage he'll do (to himself) trying that with his pet ospreys.

Really nice light on the swan. Were you also using flash to fill?

Boston common? You know maybe we shouldn't leave it to chance and just meet up at some point. Or do a Boston meet up this summer.

Me thinks you are replying to the wrong thread .... ;)
No matter - sounds like a great idea!

Nice shot. I do believe that this is a Mute Swan. I don't see those in my part of the world.

It was sort of a cross-post inspired by your presumably Boston-based swans. :)

Well, that explains why she wouldn't talk to me! I used all my best lines and I thought I was losing my touch.
I feel so much better now.

;)
