I tried hdr because of the textures and because of the mid day sun...

Some critique would be nice.

Looks like a good exercise in HDR processing. Could use some sharpening to bring out the textures.

I would add some warmth to the image, add some sharpening and crop it so there is even space on both sides of the steps using the content aware scale tool in ps....something like this
