I like the first shot on the left Newtricks. Maybe a little busy, but I don't mind that as much as others may.

I can't seem to find the point of focus though. If you ever get a chance to capture one of these guys closeup, really focus on the eyes. They have what look like emeralds surrounding them.

It is busy but that was the best angle for the shot, here is the original the first is cropped from. Thinking about going back tomorrow morning I'll see if I can't get a closer shot of the eyes.

I recently commented in a different thread about enjoying the process. When I first got the camera, I took pictures of any and everything.
Little by little I've become more selective.

Enjoy the ride. There is a lot of fun learning on the way. The only downside is going back to delete the non-keepers.

At least I don't have to come home and develop film and make contact prints to see whats what.

They are interesting critters. Love to watch them when they are swimming. They are sometimes called "Snake Ducks" because there is so little of their bodies out of the water that many times all that can be seen is that long, slender neck sticking out of the water.

Scott, have yet to see one swimming, mostly perched high in the trees around the lake with one or two taking flight and circling now and then. The lake is a good place to practice panning and tracking, can hardly wait for the weather to cool.
