Down, But Not Out!

This is one of our resident deer. She was born last year. I have video footage of her and her twin brother prancing around. She showed up the other day limping on her right rear foot. Upon closer examination it appeared her foot was broken but it wasn't a compound fracture. As of late, she is doing OK! We live a little more than a mile from the nearest highway but obviously she managed to get hit by a vehicle. This image shows some of the scuff marks left from her encounter.

She looks like a bit a fur was taken off the back shoulder blade.
Hope she is doing well.

She is doing fine. Her foot is healing, she barely walks with a limp now. In the photo, besides the scuff of fur missing from her right shoulder, she has another scuff partially hidden to the right of her throat and a couple more scuff marks on her right front foreleg. We see dead deer on the highway all the time. She was very fortunate.

Good thing.
When I see the critters around here limping, they typically dont last long.
I am glad she is doing well.
