Downtown Toronto in February

[Lazy Photographer]

I haven't been out shooting for a few weeks now but did manage to get out for a full day on the street yesterday. I took a few panoramic shots (#5, #6) and also forced myself to ask strangers if I could photograph them. This time I even mustered the courage to ask them to move into more favourable light. I'm terribly shy so this is quite an accomplishment for me. Oh, and #1 is actually an HDR shot - albeit not a great one. Here are a few for c/c.

All shots are just brilliant. I'm very impressed with the diversity I see here especially of your angles and subject matter. Looks like you are really good at about everything. Your shots have great depth, texture, clarity, and feeling. They are very alive feeling. My favorite is the 3rd. Theres just a great feeling you captured with it. Great choice on B&W. 4th is excellent too, looks great in color, but it might look even better in B&W. Maybe not, but it would be worth checking into. Keep being bold with people, it pays off. I felt the same shyness as you once, but once you start being bold and just taking shots of people, the easier it gets. Sneaky shots are great too, when their eyes are off in another world and not directed at the camera. Doesn't hurt to mix it up. Keep at it, you have a great eye, and a natural talent.

All very nice. #6 looks like you could make good use of some ND filters and turn that shot into a ghost town.

Thank you everyone. Altitude604: Even thought I've never been to The Rock, I can't help but think there's an abundance of photographic opportunities. I'd kill to travel NFLD for about a month with a camera.

The name's supposed to be a bit ironic, so to speak. I usually try to get out every weekend but this past month's been too cold for me. The thing is, I was actually getting overwhelming anxiety at not being able to get out and shoot. I find photography is one of two outlets that make me forget all my worries -- the other being going to movies. Hey, being from Toronto too, you should consider going out with the Toronto Photo Walks Group. They meet up every two weeks or so for a Saturday outing around the city, which also involves a few pints. They're a great bunch of people. You can find them here. Their organizer's name is Paul.
