Dragons Galore!

Shot a lot of photos this weekend at Brushy Creek here in north Round Rock, TX. Still a lot of dragonfly and damselfly activity.

All captured with a Canon 30D, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro, and this DIY Ring-Flash.

#1 Roseate Skimmer - Orthemis ferruginea

#2 Green Darner Mating Pair - Anax junius with added mating damsels in flight.

#3 Green Darner Pair - Anax junius

#4 Eastern Pondhawk - Erythemis simplicicollis eating a damselfly.

#5 Damselfly in Flight

#6 Blue Dasher Dragonfly - Pachydiplax longipennis

Number 5 is a damsel I think (least it looks similar to the damsels we have over here)
and I have to say this is some of the most impressive dragonfly photos I have seen to date! The eating is a very rare sight, hardly ever seen one eating and the first has great colours!
