I woke up early.
I was bored.
Break out the candles!

1. Simple flame to get warmed up.

2. These candles are 4 feet apart & I shot this from about 2 feet away from the front one. Layers are your friend!

3. Candle closeup.

4. Echoes of a flame. Okay, it's really a reflection inside the lens, but it looked cool so I posted it.

I like the last one best. Nice whiffs of smoke.

I think they're all wonderful... I love the ending!

I'd say the layered one is my fav...the black background works so well

Thanks for the nice comments. :)

The black background is a piece of foam board at the far end of the dining room table the candles were sitting on. I hung another piece of foam board from the light fixture above the table to keep the light off the background.

I keep meaning to perfect shooting candle flames, but I keep putting it off. One of these days I'll figure it all out. Especially the smoke.
