I love the first one! So many houses!

Great shots, I think the tile roofs help make the shots.

They are both great- I also especially like the first one. The white balance seems to be a bit off; a tad on the dark side.

I also like the first shot.

I think a different vantage point that would eliminate the bay/rock/pier might help the composition with just the houses running up the hill and into the background instead. Your exposure might be thrown off by the angle of the direct sun bouncing off the front of some of the homes and into your camera.
