Dust on the sensor of my D50?

I was taking some pictures today and I noticed that a small, greyish dot was appearing in some of my brighter pictures. At first I thought that a pixel on my display might have been off, but eventually I realized that it must be dust. How should I go about fixing this? Should I try and clean it myself, take it in to a camera shop, or send it back to the company to resolve the problem? Thanks!

Dust on the image sensor becomes visible in photos when small lens apertures are used.
These are small lens aperture settings - f/11, f/16, f/22. f/22 is a much smaller lens aperture than f/11 is.

Most image editing software has a tool that can be used to edit out the spot in those photos it is visible in.

As long as you use the right tools and techniques cleaning the image sensor is relatively easy.
See page 116 of your D60 user manual. The shutter curtains have to be opened to access the low pass filter that is in front of the image sensor.

Dust on a d-slr sensor: get used to it is what I always tell people, because is a never-ending, always-losing battle!
