Really great! I'm impressed at how close you got. When I attempt to get that close they never stay on the ground. Maybe it's the fact that I run at them as fast as I can waving my arms in the air yelling "ka caw... ka caw... tookie... tookie!"

Lol!
Seriously this nice shot.

I have come across a few people that come pretty close to this technique.

Beautiful!

This would be funnier if it hadn't just pretty much happened to me! I went up to a local dam that has been pretty good for eagles in the past. While I was sitting there, patiently, for HOURS, waiting for the eagle on the other side of the river to decide to fish, another photographer that I know showed up. She's part of a photography group I'm in, but I rarely ever actually go on their outings...in large part, because of people like her. The idea of the group is that it's all women, so we don't have to go out and shoot alone--safety in numbers. But I prefer shooting alone.

Anyway, she shows up, and starts chatting. And chatting and chatting. I keep watching the eagle, going "uh huh" every now and then, and she keeps chatting.
Suddenly, the eagle takes off, but instead of flying in a circle over the river like they usually do, it takes off toward the dam and past it. With this lady the whole time, going "Hey, come this way...Mr. Eagle, come over here...don't fly away..." and me trying to restrain myself to keep from saying, "Well, possibly, if you would SHUT UP, it WOULD come this way.."

I just get up and leave when someone comes along I don't know. Rude perhaps, but I don't want to wait all dat for a shot hand have a silly touron mess it all up. (Tourons are moron tourists)
