Golden millipede:
Juvenile scolopendra:
Imantodes cenchoa:
Cicada headshot:
Trap jaw ant (Odontomachus sp.)
Juvenile tarantula:
Tiger beetle:
Clearwing butterfly:
High mag. shots were made with 100mm canon with raynox msn-202 (4x close up filter) on a 7D. This handles well and only vignettes at the lowest mag. range of 1.6x approx. The handling is good but with a smaller focal plane than the mpe, hence I had to stop down quite low to f/25 to get a decent focus slice. These are all single images. However as you can see it makes a suitable substitute for the mpe at under $100. I have also tried adding it to the mpe for 9x mag. however the working distance is so minimal that you really have to be working with stationary objects. Will post pics later on of 9x. Though it does make a nice complement for very small subjects that don't move much like parasitic mites, ceratopognid midges, some ant species, etc...
