Took this in the Honey Island Swamp, Louisiana

Beautiful bird. I saw a couple today as well but they were beyond the range of the 300mm lens I had with me. Your shot is much better than what I got

Nice image - one of the many reasons I try to get to Florida in the late Winter/early Spring every year - well, actually, one of the reasons is to escape part of our dastardly cold winters .

Thank you. The place was great, lots of birds and gators.

Nice capture What a gorgeous bird!
In my quest to shoot the herons etc at the pond I'm still working on being stealthy, they see me comin' a mile away and wait until I'm ALMOST in range then happily fly away lol
