(I'm paranoid to comment on your pics as there's sometimes a hidden agenda and/or I miss the point entirely. So I'm just gonna wade right in and pretend it was a pic posted by someone else, and try to ignore the 'nudge' suggestion.)

I love the lighting (which I assume is late afternoon?) - with all the light and shadows that time of day creates. The photo is wonderfully exposed, and there's so much to look at...the growths on the bark of the treetrunk in the top left corner, the moss on the wooden fence, the various types of vegetation (grass, vines, bushes, trees) etc. And of course the variations in colour of the sky and clouds. The lighter triangle created by the edge of the clouds, stabbing in to the side of the shot, really adds a punch to the shot. From the sheer darkness of the clouds on the far left of the shot (and yes, nudged by the sight of the transmission tower off in the distance, and the title), this scene reminds me of summer storms I have seen rolling in, the air sometimes crackling with electricity that makes the hairs on your arms and neck stand up, and sheets of heat lightning flashing off in the distance. If the storm is moving left to right, it's about to get very dark, windy and wet.



(I've seen your comment on another thread that people don't like to be told how to view a photo. I am actually very open to such information, if it's from a trusted source. And you're a source I trust. I hope to hear 'why you took this shot' and 'what were you trying to do'). With some trepidation I will now hit the 'submit' button....

You're pretty much there, Anti - but it was 5.50am. I love early morning light.
And I really have this thing about power pylons. In the UK whenever you get a 'view' there's always a string of them right across shot. I've begun to suspect that the Electricity Board had a commission set up to find the most scenic views - and then they routed the power lines through them.
I've tried many times to incorporate them into shot. This time it might have worked. And the light was right.
Ten minutes later the rain started (it's been raining here for about a week).

The tower is in fact the centre and focus of the image ;-)

Perhaps it was a subconcious reaction to the title or the cut of the cloud transition, but the first thing I personally noticed was the tower followed by the little pot by the fence then my focus began to spread. Excellent image! I've noticed colours are always richer after a storm and yeah, the best views here always seem to have been conquered by the electric companies.
