T-Minus ten minutes till take off. Getting the go ahead for launch from the respiratory tech. Crossing my fingers.

Seriously? did you guys not even read the post? I was sitting at the hospital waiting for the respiratory team to clear the patient to go when i posted. In a lounge chair. Or did you think i was waiting to get cleared to leave in the back of the ambulance? Cant take pictures in hospitals or ambulances. Wouldn't want to anyway. Christ, i guess if you dont spell out every by the second detail, someone will just assume something stupid. I thought photographers would have better attention to detail than this.

How did it turn out? Did they make it to the out-of-town facility okay?

yes actually, the respiratory team cleared the patient for off the vent travel and they managed to be stable-ish to the other facility.
but gawd..I hate deep tracheotomy suctioning.. (that's where I stick a suction catheter down a tracheotomy tube) so gross. I would rather deal with blood. and the PT needed a LOT of suctioning. there was a few times I thought I was going to have to give drugs to maintain their heartrate, but it came back up on its own. I suspect the patient will probably be getting an implanted pacemaker soon.

For the record... no where in your original post did it say you were sitting in a lounge chair.

And seriously... you work in public safety, you should know that more stupid things have been known to happen.

No, but he DID say: "Getting the go ahead for launch from the respiratory tech" and I don't think they typically have respiratory techs on the ambulance, nor do they typically have to WAIT for a "go ahead for launch" if they're already ON an ambulance.
