The evening marks day's end on the farm, the drone o' the tractor now silenced is succeeded by the song o' birds awaiting the darkness. Windrows o' tedded hay stretch out before me like the contour lines on a topographic map, their fresh mown verdant hue will give way to the gold and tan patina cast upon them by days to follow under the drying sun.
